Det har vært noen spørsmål mht mottakelse av kommunion på denne bloggen nylig, der det har vært litt uklart hva som er normen og hva som er det «normale»: Den universelle kirkelige normen er å ta imot på tunga, mens det “normale” i Norge og i flere andre land er å motta i hånda. Man kan motta i hånda (bare) hvis biskopen har tillatt det, mens man kan alltid og alle steder motta kommunionen på tunga.
Det har også nylig blitt meldt at en kardinal/erkebiskop i Peru nå bare vil godta munnkommunion innenfor sitt område:
Speaking to the Italian web site Petrus, Cardinal Juan Luis Cipriani Thorne of Lima, Peru, said that in order to guard against abuses, «the best way to administer Communion is on the tongue.»
Cardinal Cipriani told Petrus that he took the step to halt Communion in the hand in order to promote greater reverence for the Eucharist.
