Advent inviterer oss ogs\u00e5 til \u00e5 se fram imot det himmelse Jerusalem, som er m\u00e5let for v\u00e5r jordiske vandring. Avslutningsvis nevnte han ogs\u00e5 Johannes D\u00f8peren (som jeg selv la mest vekt p\u00e5 i prekenen sist s\u00f8ndag), som oppfordrer oss ogs\u00e5 i \u00e5r til \u00e5 forberede plass for Jesus Kristus i v\u00e5rt hjerte. In these days the liturgy reminds us constantly that «God comes» to visit his people, to dwell in the midst of men and to form with them a communion of love and life, that is, a family. John’s Gospel expresses thus the mystery of the Incarnation: «And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us»; literally, «he made his dwelling among us» (John 1:14).<\/p>\n …though it is God who takes the initiative of coming to dwell in the midst of men, and he is always the main architect of this plan, it is also true that he does not will to carry it out without our active cooperation.
