Og mitt hovedpoeng disse m\u00e5nedene (nesten et \u00e5r) har v\u00e6rt \u00e5 se p\u00e5 b\u00e5de messens gamle og nye form for \u00e5 forst\u00e5 bedre innholdsmessig (=\u00e5ndelig, teologisk, liturgisk) hva messen egentlig er og hvordan den best feires.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00e5 Father Z&#8217;s blog var det for noen dager siden <a href=\"http:\/\/wdtprs.com\/blog\/2008\/04\/lossrom-revealing-interview-with-he-piero-marini-former-mc\/#comment-59884\">et &laquo;leserinnleg&raquo; som pr\u00f8vde \u00e5 vise hvor like messens to former egentliig er<\/a>, og som ogs\u00e5 foreslo hvordan presten kan beholde flere av de gamle elementene fra den gamle tradisjon n\u00e5r han feirer den nye messen:<\/p>\n<p><i><font color=\"#333399\">In claiming that the two ordines are very similar. I\u2019m obviously talking about the original Latin versions rather than the ICEL transaltion (the new translation will be a massive improvement).<\/p>\n<p>The Kyrie, Gloria, Creed, Sanctus, Pater Noster, Agnus Dei and Ite Missa Est in both ordines are exactly the same.<\/p>\n<p>The Penitential Rite and the Prayers at the Foot of the Altar do present notable differences. But Penitential Rite Form A and B are simply parts of the Prayers at the Foot of the Altar now recited by all (admittedly the Confiteor has been shortened, but it is still recognisably the Confiteor).<\/p>\n<p>There is nothing to prevent the priest reciting those parts of the Prayers at the Foot of Altar that have not been incorporated into the Penetential Rite privately in the sacristy. <\/font><\/i><\/p>\n<p>(Slik kan da presten be i sakristiet:)<!--more--><br \/>\nP. Han som har skapt himmel og jord.<\/p>\n<p><i><font color=\"#333399\">The lectionary is completely different, but is perhaps the most beneficial of all the changes (also, Vatican II did specifically call for a wider cycle of readings spread over several years).<\/p>\n<p>The Offertory is different \u2013 most of the prayers have been changed or omitted \u2013 but the <strong>Orate Fratres<\/strong> and its response is still there (kept by Paul VI even though the Consilium wanted to remove it) and it is the Secreta\/Super Oblata that is the most important part of the Offertory anyway.<\/font><\/i><\/p>\n<p>(P\u00e5 dette punktet er den norske oversettelsen sv\u00e6rt d\u00e5rlig, for slik lyder det egentlig:)<br \/>\nP. <strong>Be, br\u00f8dre<\/strong>, om at mitt og deres offer m\u00e5 tekkes Gud, den allmektige Fader.<\/p>\n<p>S. Herren ta imot dette offer fra dine hender til lov og \u00e6re for sitt navn og til gagn for oss og hele hans hellige Kirke.<\/p>\n<p><i><font color=\"#333399\">The Roman Canon is almost exactly the same (the addition of \u201cquod pro vobis tradetur\u201d to the words of consecration actually emphasises even more than before the sacrificial nature of the Mass).<\/p>\n<p>The option of alternative Canons is the biggest change of all, but if they are used less exclusively and the Roman Canon is seen as the preferred option for Sundays and Holy-Days, they are in no way offensive.<\/p>\n<p>The embolism after the Pater Noster is very similar. The addition of \u201cExpectantes beatem spem\u201d (a Scripture quote) actually emphasises even more than before the eschatalogical aspect.<\/p>\n<p>The words of the priest\u2019s private prayers at Communion are the same, except that one (Domine Iesu Christe) is now plural and said by all, and of the other two the priest chooses one only per Mass (admittedly the endings \u201cQui vivis\u2026\u201d\/\u201dQui cum eodem\u201d have been omitted).<\/p>\n<p>The words of the Ecce Agnus Dei and the Domine non sum dignus are the same, but with the addition of \u201cBeati qui invitati sunt\u2026\u201d (again a Scripture quote and again emphasising the eschatalogical dimension).<\/p>\n<p>The Placeat Tibi has been omitted but there is nothing to prevent the priest reciting it privately while returning to the sacristy.<\/font><\/i><\/p>\n<p>(Slik kan alts\u00e5 presten be stille ved messens avslutning:)<br \/>\nPlaceat Tibi &#8230;: La denne min lydige tjeneste tekkes deg, hellige Treenighet, og gi at dette offer, som jeg, uverdige, har b\u00e5ret fram for din guddommelige majestets \u00e5syn, m\u00e5 bli tatt mot med glede, og at det ved din miskunn m\u00e5 bli til soning for meg og for alle dem jeg har b\u00e5ret det fram for.
