I g\u00e5r ettermiddag talte kardinal Walter Kasper, Vatikanets \u00f8kumeniske leder, til de anglikanske biskopene, og uttrykte at den katolsk-anglikanske dialogen n\u00e5 g\u00e5r feil vei. Fra the Catholic News Agency<\/a>:<\/p>\n

The cardinal noted that these efforts at dialogue have been \u201cbased on the Gospel and on our ancient common traditions\u201d and motivated by \u201cfidelity to Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n

And yet, \u201cnow it seems that full and visible communion as the goal of our dialogue has taken a step backwards<\/strong>,\u201d Cardinal Kasper lamented.<\/p>\n

According to the Catholic prelate, two questions are creating tension between the Anglican Communion and the Catholic Church: \u201cthe ordination of women and human sexuality.\u201d The teaching of the Catholic Church on human sexuality and in particular on homosexuality, said Kasper, is \u201cfirmly based on the Old and New Testament,\u201d and what is \u201cat stake is fidelity to Holy Scripture and to the apostolic tradition<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cardinal Kasper closed his speech by expressing the concern of the Catholic Church over the divisions currently appearing in the Anglican Communion.<\/p>\n
