For noen f\u00e5 uker siden ble den nye engelske oversettelsen av alle de faste ledd i messen godkjent, og i dag leser jeg at den er blitt offenliggjort. Les mer om dette HER<\/a>, eller g\u00e5 direkte til hele oversettelsen HER<\/a> (pdf-fil).<\/p>\n

Her tar jeg med noen f\u00e5 ting som jeg syns er de viktigste – jeg har feira messen p\u00e5 engelsk nesten en gang hver uke i snitt, i 8 1\/2 \u00e5r, og har lagt merke med en del ting. Folk skal n\u00e5 svare «And with your spirit», syndbekjennelsen har «mea culpa» tre ganger (det har vi ikke p\u00e5 norsk), det engelske gloria er n\u00e5 korrekt oversatt (tidl. var hele setninger flytta p\u00e5), ved «orate fratres» (i offertoriet) sies det n\u00e5 «my sacrifice and yours» (det mangler p\u00e5 norsk), siste del av 1. eukaristiske b\u00f8nn f\u00f8lger n\u00e5 den latinske originalen (ogs\u00e5 her var setninger flytta rundt omkring i den engelske oversettelsen), f\u00f8r kommunion sies det n\u00e5 «Behold the Lamb of God» og «I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof». Ellers er det veldig mange sm\u00e5 og litt st\u00f8rre forandringer, som jeg ikke kan nevne her.<\/p>\n

Her er de forandringene jeg nevnte spesielt:<\/p>\n

P: The Lord be with you.
\nR. And with your spirit.<\/p>\n

\nyou alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ,
\nwith the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father.

— He takes the chalice and the paten with the host and, elevating both, he says:<\/i>

\nin the unity of the Holy Spirit,

\nfor ever and ever.<\/p>\n

Amen.<\/p>\n
