Det interessante for oss katolikker er at Biden er katolikk, og det som kommer til \u00e5 skape stor debatt (<a href=\"http:\/\/wdtprs.com\/blog\/2008\/08\/dems-may-have-a-catholic-pro-abortion-vp-candidate\/\">som allerede er begynt<\/a>) , er at han er for fri abort.<\/p>\n<p>Biden f\u00e5r ikke full score hos abortforkjemerne i USA, fordi han er mot &laquo;partial-birth abortion&raquo;, men han st\u00f8tter sterkt og tydelig hovedtrekkene i den amerikanske abortpraksisen, som er ansvarlig for ca 1,3 millioner aborter i \u00e5ret. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ontheissues.org\/2008\/Barack_Obama_Abortion.htm\">Barack Obama selv har i alle \u00e5r st\u00f8tta fri abort<\/a> i absolutt alle sammenhenger og tilfeller.<\/p>\n<p>Slik svarer Joe Biden p\u00e5 sp\u00f8rsm\u00e5l om abort:<br \/>\n<i><font color=\"#333399\">Q: You have changed your position on abortion. When you came to the Senate, you believed that Roe v. Wade was not correctly decided and that you also believed the right of abortion was not secured by the Constitution. Why did you change your mind?<br \/>\nA: Well, I was 29 years old when I came to the US Senate, and I have learned a lot. Look, I&#8217;m a practicing Catholic, and it is the biggest dilemma for me in terms of comporting my religious and cultural views with my political responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>Q: Do you believe that life begins at conception?<br \/>\nA: I am prepared to accept my church&#8217;s view. I think it&#8217;s a tough one. I have to accept that on faith. That&#8217;s why the late-term abortion ban, where there&#8217;s clearly viability.<\/p>\n<p>Q: As president would you have a specific litmus test question on Roe v. Wade that you would ask of your nominees for the high court?<br \/>\nA: I strongly support Roe v. Wade.
