Da jeg skrev en <a href=\"\/odv\/artikl\/rettf-ttk-sept02.htm\">artikkel om den luthersk-katolske felleserkl\u00e6ringen om rettferdiggj\u00f8relsen<\/a>, brukte jeg i stor grad han analyser, og p\u00e5 denne bloggen har jeg tatt opp ting han har skrevet flere ganger.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.firstthings.com\/onthesquare\/?p=1250\">Hos First Things nevnes hans d\u00f8d<\/a> og en lang liste med artikler han har skrevet for tidsskriftet, og<a href=\"http:\/\/aomoi.net\/blog\/wp-admin\/post.php?action=edit&#038;post=1596\"> John Allen skriver om ham<\/a> p\u00e5 denne m\u00e5ten:<\/p>\n<p><i><font color=\"#333399\">Over the years, Dulles published 23 books and some 750 articles. Perhaps his best-known book was 1974\u2019s Models of the Church, in which Dulles outlined five different images of the church that have developed over the centuries, from \u201cinstitution,\u201d \u201cmystical communion\u201d and \u201csacrament\u201d to \u201cherald\u201d and \u201cservant.\u201d Though Dulles regarded each as valid on its own terms, most readers in the immediate post-Vatican II period regarded the images of \u201cherald\u201d and \u201cservant\u201d as best reflecting the council\u2019s vision, and tended to see Dulles as part of the broadly \u201cprogressive\u201d theological outlook associated with Vatican II.<\/p>\n<p>As the post-conciliar period gave way to the John Paul years, however, Dulles began to give voice &#8212; along with a broad swath of Catholic opinion &#8212; to doubts about whether some of the reforms and innovations associated with Vatican II had perhaps led to a weakened sense of Catholic identity.<\/p>\n<p>In a 2006 interview with NCR, for example, Dulles expressed deep admiration for both Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI, but added that if he had any criticism, it might be that both men were perhaps \u201cnot traditional enough\u201d on some issues, such as the death penalty and the church\u2019s teaching on a just war. <\/font><\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kardinal Avery Dulles som d\u00f8de i dag, 90 \u00e5r gammel, er en person jeg ofte har l\u00e6rt mye av.
