Biskop Athanasius Schneider skrev for et par \u00e5r siden ei bok som heter ‘Dominus est» (les mer om den her<\/a>) som i stor grad handler om hvor viktig og korrekt det er \u00e5 dele ut kommunion til de troende p\u00e5 tungen, mens de kneler. Biskopen var nylig i Estland, siden hans bok ble utgitt der, og forklarte ved pressekonferansen hvorfor h\u00e5ndkommunion var misforst\u00e5tt og hvordan han hadde sendt manuskriptet til boka til pave Benedikt (f\u00f8r det ble utgitt), og f\u00e5tt sv\u00e6rt positiv tilbakemelding fra ham. Han hadde da bedt paven om \u00e5 slutte \u00e5 dele ut kommunion i h\u00e5neden ved pavemesser, og ble forbl\u00f8ffet da paven gjorde akkurat dette noen f\u00e5 m\u00e5neder senere! In the book presentation the Bishop explained how the present form of hand communion has nothing to do with the practise of hand communion in the early centuries. The new way was adapted by some liberal priests in Holland directly from the Calvinists in 1965.<\/p>\n

The Bishop ultimately decided to write a book defending the traditional way of receiving Holy Communion, and when the work was finished he gave a manuscript to the Holy Father. The Pope wrote back to the Bishop praising the work and his accuracy of knowledge of the patristics.<\/p>\n

Bishop Schneider told he had also asked the Pope to stop distributing Communion in the hand in Papal Masses<\/strong>, and even if the Pope’s answer was supportive it was not certain that it would happen. But since only a few months later, all communicants have been asked to receive Holy Communion from the Pope only kneeling and on the tongue.
