G\u00e5r man over 100 \u00e5r tilbake hadde Kirken mange oktaver, og man m\u00e5 nok kunne v\u00e6re enig i at det var for mange &#8211; det var ogs\u00e5 slik en tid at man nesten ikke feiret noen vanlige s\u00f8ndager, fordi helt vanlige minnedagen kunne ta s\u00f8ndagens plass. Men tidlig p\u00e5 1900-tallet var dette blitt forandret, og man lurer s\u00e5 p\u00e5 hvordan man fant det n\u00f8dvendig i 1969 \u00e5 ta bort selve pinseoktaven.
