For en ukes tid siden ble det nevnt, av erkebiskop M\u00fcller i Troskongregasjonen, at det kanskje ogs\u00e5 kunne opprettes en l\u00f8sning der lutheranere kunne bli katolikker p\u00e5 en noe enklere og smidigere m\u00e5te, og at de kunne konvertere sammen og beholde noen av sine tradisjoner – det var dette som skjedde med anglikanerne for 2-3 \u00e5r siden. Men flere mener at dette sannsynligvis ikke vil skje med (s\u00e6rlig mange) lutheranere. Dette diskuteres bl.a. p\u00e5 Father Zs blogg<\/a> (ogs\u00e5 han er tidligere lutheraner):<\/p>\n

The issue was recently addressed by Mgr. M\u00fcller. The German theologian chosen by Pope Benedict XVI to lead the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, recognised that the \u201cLutheran world is different to the Anglican one because Anglicanism has always had an element that is closer to Catholicism.\u201d But this would not stop the Church from allowing Lutheran groups to convert to Catholicism, preserving \u201clegitimate traditions developed\u201d over the centuries.<\/p>\n

According to Mgr. M\u00fcller, there are Lutherans in his homeland, Germany, who hope to enter once again into communion with the Roman Catholic Church and who believe that the changes introduced by the Second Vatican Council were an adequate response to Luther\u2019s request for reforms five centuries ago. \u201cProtestants \u2013 he added \u2013 do not oppose Catholicism because they have hung onto many Catholic traditions.\u201d<\/p>\n
