En katolsk patriark b\u00f8nnfaller de unge om \u00e5 ikke reise:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230; Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarch Gregorios III said the exodus, \u201can almost communal wave of youth emigration\u201d, raised questions about the future of the Church in Syria.<\/p>\n<p>In an open letter, a copy of which was sent to Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need, the patriarch said: \u201cThe almost communal wave of youth emigration, especially in Syria, but also in Lebanon and Iraq breaks my heart, wounding me deeply and dealing me a deadly blow.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven this tsunami of emigration\u2026 what future is left for the Church? What will become of our homeland? What will become of our parishes and institutions?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Recognising the many problems of life in Syria today, the Patriarch said he wanted to \u201cimplore\u201d young people to remain.<\/p>\n<p>He stated: \u201c\u2026Despite all your suffering, stay! Be patient! Don\u2019t emigrate! Stay for the Church, your homeland, for Syria and its future! Stay!
