Jeg har hørt at noen (sannsynligvis ganske få) personer har bedt om at den kan brukes også i St Dominikus her i Oslo, men så langt har det ikke skjedd (så vidt jeg vet). Jeg vil her vise til en artikkel om dette skrevet av Fr. Augustine Thompson, O.P., professor ved the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology i Berkley, California – les om ham her. Det virker som det er i USAa vestre (dominikanske) provins at interessen for denne ritusen har vært størst. Fr. Thompson skriver:
Readers often ask about where they can attend celebrations of the Dominican Rite Mass and what its canonical status is now. … in the Western Dominican Province, the traditional Dominican Rite has been celebrated publicly continuously since 1969. … from 1969 on the the rubrics to be followed were those of 1965 as revised to 1969. But after 1988, we of our province who celebrated the traditional Rite reverted to those of 1962, since the Order follows the discipline of the Roman Rite, as the «Mother Rite.» In that year Ecclesia Dei Afflicta provided that those celebrating the traditional Roman Rite were to follow the rubrics of 1962. I remember that change well since I had permission to celebrate the traditional Dominican Rite from the time of my ordination in 1985. I mention this only because it seems, from Fr. Pius’s summary, that some priests (of the Eastern Province?) who received permission to celebrate the traditional Dominican Rite in 1969 seem to be using the rubrics of that time. In any case, as the Master of the Order Carlos Azpiroz Costa explained in his «State of the Order Report» to the Dominican General Chapter of 2010, those using the Dominican Rite Missal are to follow the rubrics of 1962.
